Will your next PC be a tablet PC?

What is the future of desktop PCs versus tablet devices
Over at the UK research company YouGov they have just posted some interesting findings from their latest study into consumer trends for tablet PC buying in the UK :
Approximately one in twelve Tablet owners (8%) purchased a tablet instead of, or to replace, a desktop computer, laptop or other computer, with 11% of Samsung Galaxy Tab and 7% of iPad owners doing so, new research released from YouGov’s latest TabletTrack study reveals.

PC and laptop retailers have already noticed the impact on sales and the rise of consumers looking to actually update their laptop or PC with a tablet rather than a new computer. The YouGov study predicts that if tablet PCs stick to their target of bringing the prices down to the £250 level then tablet and iPads impact on traditional laptop and PC sales levels will be even greater by the time the year is out.

What do you think? Are you looking to buy a tablet PC or iPad to replace your laptop or PC or is it in addition to it?
